Sony On The Future Of Resistance: “No Definitive Plans”

Posted on Monday, June 25 @ 11:33:19 Eastern by Alex_Osborn

The Resistance franchise has had its fair share of ups and downs, so it shouldn't come as all that much of a surprise to hear that Sony doesn't have any clear plans for the series going forward. In an interview with OPMUK, Daniel Brooke from Sony spoke to the uncertain future of Resistance, saying: "the Resistance franchise has been exciting to work on, but as for the future we have no definitive plans.”

I don't know about you, but I'm quite saddened by the news, especially after seeing how much potential the series has with Resistance 3. But alas, Insomniac has moved on to other pursuits and unfortunately other developers (like, oh I don't know, say... Nihilisitic) aren't quite capable of delivering a Resistance title of the same caliber (see Burning Skies).

Does the shaky future of Resistance have you down in the dumps, or conversely, jumping with joy? Sound off with your thoughts on the polarizing Sony series in the comments below.

Resistance 3 was a missed opportunity. It was really a U turn, they have a really cool side-story that actually could have been important and is way more interesting than "holy **** alien attack".

There's also little consistency between every single game released.

Needed more survival horror. I've always enjoyed the games, though. Still, it's better to just quit while you're ahead, than to keep pushing out half-baked games just for the sake of continuing the franchise....Nintendo.
