Sony Teases PlayStation's Future, Probably PS4-Related

Posted on Thursday, January 31 @ 16:11:39 Eastern by Alex_Osborn

Despite recent statements from Sony CEO Kaz Hirai hinting at the contrary, it looks like we may finally get a peak at Sony's next-gen hardware in a matter of weeks.

On February 20th, Sony will be hosting some sort of meeting in New York City regarding "the future" of the PlayStation brand. The teaser was posted on the PlayStation Facebook page as well as the company's Twitter account, both of which lead to this website, which is home to the video you see above.

While we have no idea exactly what Sony is planning to show, I don't think it is much of a stretch to say that the next-generation PlayStation might be there in some form or another. What do you think? Let us know in the comments below.

its seems like they are trying to build anticipation for something big. at least thats how i feel. It seems this is just a little too close to being in line with the announcement rumors for it to be anything else. I think it will be mostly to announce news on their new hardware, but hopefully they have some good news about what they plan to do with the vita as well.

I think they will show us what the new PS4 looks like and then say it will revolutionize gaming and entertainment in our living room.

I'll be there. I bet it's a PlayStation Eye extension cord announcement. People NEED to use it from further away from their TV.

I had no doubt you'd be at a PS event. I would be disappointed if you at least didn't set up a hide across the street with binoculars and creepy photos of naked hardware.

My style is to actually attend the event myself, but hire professional stalkers to take photos of the PS4 while getting ready for it's presentation. Best of both worlds!

Although, this could be an announcement for the long-rumored PlayStation Eye extension cable. The future is coming! Or maybe a firmware update that removes rumble support again.

It's the PS2 Retro. A new version of the PS2 but with internal hardrive and a built-in library of greatest hits.
