[Update]Soul Calibur V Officially Announced

Posted on Wednesday, May 11 @ 00:53:55 Eastern by Blake_Morse

This just coming in hot off Daishi Odashima's twitter page: Soul Calibur V has just been announced at a press conference in Dubai. Apparently the game barely came together too:

Soulcalibur V has officially been announced! They’re showing something at the Dubai game show as we speak... SC5 came true thanks to everyone’s support and passion! The team was dispatched after SCBD.. so I'd like to thank all the fans out there!

Awww, shucks Daishi. T'wernt nothing. Just promise me no more Jedis, okay? That's all I'm really asking. There's not really all that much more to say right now other than yes, there's a Soul Calibur V coming just in case you were wondering. We'll keep you updated as we get more details.

[Update]: Man, Odashima-San is really pumped for SCV, he can't shut up about it. Now he's dropping the 411 on what we can expect from the storyline:

The story of V is set in the future of IV. The main character is a young man named Patroklos. The hardcore fans should know who he is!

Soulcalibur V is like “a new chapter” in the SC series.

Well, yes sequels do tend to be new chapters in a series, unless you're Star Wars, in which case you do it out of order.

And I must not be a "hardcore fan" either because I had to consult the SCWiki page to figure out who Patroklos was. Turns out he's Sophitia's son. She had him when she was only 18 and then another kid named Pyrrha when she was 23. It's all very suspicious though. Are you really going to tell me that she has a body like that after two kids? Video Games really are a fantasy world.

I really hope they make this one better than SC4, that was kinda lame...
