FEATURED VOXPOP oblivion437 Update: I was unfortunately not aware of Shamus Young's severe criticism of Fallout 3 available here to link in the original piece and I regret that.  It dovetails rather nicely with what I've written and it's much better executed than my piece.  I strongly recommend anyone...

Square Enix Bringing New Dragon Quest Game To North America?

Posted on Tuesday, January 21 @ 04:48:03 PST by Alex_Osborn
Square Enix has registered a trademark for "The Seeds of Salvation" in the United States, adding fuel to the fiery hope that a new Dragon Quest title will be localized for western gamers.

Last year, the publisher registered the same trademark in Japan, and Siliconera suggests that this name is quite possibly the subtitle of a new entry in the iconic JRPG franchise. It has been a long time since gamers outside of Japan have gotten a proper Dragon Quest game, so a release like this sure would be welcomed by fans of the genre.

Of course, we can only speculate at this point, so temper your expectations. Who knows? Maybe it'll end up being some cheap smartphone game built around microtransactions.... Just don't get your hopes up.
