Square Enix Launches Site Teasing The World Ends With You Announcement

Posted on Monday, August 20 @ 13:15:00 PST by Alex_Osborn

Square Enix has just launched a teaser site for what is clearly related to The World Ends With You. The page doesn't divulge all that much - it's a teaser after all - but does bear a timer that currently clocks in a just over six days.

The site doesn't reference the Nintendo DS cult-classic in name, but the timer font as well as the faint cityscape of Shibuya in the background totally gives it away. It's also worth mentioning that both Tetsuya Nomura and Ken Gen Kobayashi are listed on the bottom of the page, both of whom were involved in the original.

So what could this mean? Could 3DS gamers be getting a proper sequel? A number of characters from the game's cast did appear in the recently released Kingdom Hearts 3D, so it sure sounds like a logical move. One thing's certain though, between this, Final Fantasy Versus XIII and the long rumored Kingdom Hearts III, Mr. Nomura has a lot on his plate.
