Posted on Tuesday, May 3 @ 11:19:29 Eastern by

One trailer was all it took for Dead Island to get the entire internet talking. And since then, the buzz has only mounted for the gritty, melee-heavy, survival-based zombie outbreak game.

Publisher Deep Silver, has revealed a partnership with Square Enix to distribute and market Dead Island in North and South America when it releases on the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC, later this year.

Deep Silver Chief Operating Officer Geoff Mulligan had this to say about the partnership:

Square Enix’s impressive distribution and marketing capabilities, combined with their proven success with launching top-notch AAA titles, makes them the absolute best partner for Dead Island

Square Enix President and CEO, Mike Fischer, is equally excited about distributing Dead Island:

Dead Island is a truly extraordinary title and we couldn’t be more excited about leveraging our unified Square Enix resources in bringing it to audiences in the Americas.
