Steam Summer Sale 2012 Is Live

Posted on Thursday, July 12 @ 11:37:11 Eastern by Jonathan_Leack

It's July 2012 and you know what that means.

The Steam Summer Sale 2012 is live and there are already a ton of games available at unheard of prices. Starting today and ending July 23rd nearly every game on Steam is offered at a low price in addition to just under a dozen games featured in a daily Today's Deals.

The first round of Today's Deals, which are for July 12th, include the following:
  • Total War: Shogun 2 - $7.49 (regularly priced @ $29.99)
  • Portal 2 - $4.99 (regularly priced @ $19.99)
  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 - $29.99 (regularly priced @ $59.99)
  • Might & Magic Heroes VI - $24.99 (regularly priced @ $49.99)
  • Terraria - $2.49 (regularly priced @ $9.99)
  • Ridger Racer Unbounded - $24.99 (regularly priced @ $49.99)
  • Legend of Grimrock - $5.99 (regularly priced @ 5.99)
  • Crusader Kings II - $9.99 (regularly priced @ $39.99)
In addition, each day will feature an Indie Bundle which incluedes a variety of indie games at a very low price. Today's Indie Bundle includes the following for only $9.99:
  • Anomaly: Warzone Earth
  • Cave Story+
  • EDGE
  • Lone Survivor
  • The Baconing
Lastly, there's a The Community Choice system that lets you choose which deal you'd like to see next. The first round of votes include the following:
  • The Witcher 2 for 60% off
  • Batman: Arkham City for 66% off
  • Saint's Row: The Third for 75% off
Do yourself a favor and if there are any games that you feel you've been missing out on—I know I missed out on The Witcher 2—open up Steam and see if there's a good deal available. If not, chances are it'll be featured in one of the daily deals, so check back often.

Yeah, but the THQ pack I got two years ago was just a little bit better, being over $400 worth of games for $50. Bless them. Warhammer 40,000 is so awesome.

They're also doing flash sales. Right now you can get Deus Ex: HR for $7.50 (yes again) available for 45 minutes, Rayman Origins for $15 available for just under 7 hours, Spacechem for $2.50 (4 hours 45 minutes), and Mafia 2 for $7.50 (2 hours 45 minutes).

Posting this at 6:20 EST, so do the math if you want to know when a sale will end.

So far, just Poker Night at the Inventory and the Super MNC Turbocross bundle. But tomorrow, there will be more. I'm just waiting for the right games to get on the daily/Flash deals.
