Microsoft's newest console has lots of different features, but video games might hold the device back from the software giant's true intentions.

Techland "Dead Island" Devs Trademark "Dead World"

Posted on Thursday, November 3 @ 03:58:09 Eastern by

Techland has given away its first hint that Dead Island might be receiving a sequel. Dead Island did surprisingly well for a title that received a rather lukewarm response from critics, though the idea of playing an open-world multiplayer zombie apocalypse game is something that almost any gamer would want to have.

Siliconera reports that the (undead) Polish developer has trademarked "Dead World" on the October 28th, referring to a "computer game software and electronic software programs". Of course, Techland is all hush-hush about it.

On the bright side, this doesn't look like trademark squatting, as "Dead World" makes perfect sense as a sequel. My only hope is that they fix the inventory system and have characters who are, you know, interesting next time.

I don't know the idea of a Dead Island sequel seems a little DOA. (Get it?)
