Tera Will Be Free To Play In February

Posted on Wednesday, January 9 @ 08:12:57 Eastern by Keri_Honea
In February, Tera will officially go the route of pretty much all MMOs these days—free-to-play.

Tera will now consist of three subscription tiers: Founder, Elite, and Standard. The Standard tier consists of the free-to-play users, and the $14.99/month subscribers will be Elite. Those who already subscribe to Tera will automatically go to the Elite tier. The Founder tier is for anyone who purchases a copy of the game and registers it. Founder status is good for life, so even if current subscribers cancel their subscription once this new model goes in place, they will automatically be in the Founder tier.

The major differences between the tiers are the number of character slots, bank slots, daily bonus quests, and brokerage postings. There are no limitations with race, class, or content.

If you want to look at the full list of differences between all three tiers, En Masse has posted a detailed FAQ. Need more information? Check out their free-to-play trailer below.

Got this a few months back and loved it for about 2 weeks, even dished out for the digital deluxe edition, after that it just got SO boring and no story differentiation either so I just lost interest. Not sure even free to play would make me pick this up again. Gorgeous visuals though.

I bought it awhile back and never made it out of my free month. The game play was great. It felt more like an action game than an MMO, but everything else was cookie cutter MMO all the way. The story, the quests, the characters, and pretty much everything but the combat was so incredibly generic that I got bored quick. I might play it bit once it's free, but I doubt I'll stick around.

This launched around the same time as Diablo 3 and I was currently finishing FFXIII-2 so I didn't have the time to play it as much as I wanted, only got to level 32 on my main character. The Big Ass Monster fights at 20+ were where the real fun was at IMO.

Much like TurinAlexander though for me the fun wore off pretty quickly and as much as I want to, for some reason I just can't force myself to go back. F2P will definitely help me try to get back into it while I wait for ARR.

Great graphics, really fun combat Maybe if I hadn't been playing solo the whole time it would have been more fun. Hats off to RIFT for possibly the best public grouping/dynamic event system ever in MMOs.
