GAMING NEWSThe Elder Scrolls Online Focuses On Solo ExperiencePosted on Sunday, May 20 @ 14:24:32 Eastern by Jonathan_Leack
![]() The Elder Scrolls Online might be transitioning the series to the multi-player market for its first time, but that doesn't mean everything you do will require groups. Nope, far from it. Matt Firor, game director of The Elder Scrolls Online, told Game Informer during an interview that the game will emphasize the player's role in the game world, much of which will require a focus on single-player to develop. He stated:
So the leveling experience is solo... and he mentioned mentioned in the interview that many of the quest areas will be instanced. That sounds awfully familiar.
Oh that's right, Star Wars: The Old Republic went for the same thing. It's a shame its scale and sense of community was jeapordized because of it. More from the Game Revolution Network Comments

In light of Diablo III's launch, I say, good luck with that.

In the past with a game like EQ, grouping was not an option, it was pretty much mandatory right from the get go if you ever wanted to advance in that game. A game like that would fall flat on its face if it was released today. The casual MMO player of today wants grouping to be optional only and the casual MMO player is where the money is at so you see games like swtor and now this one trying to cater to that type of style.
