The Last of Us Development Video Provides A Closer Look At The Infected

Posted on Thursday, February 28 @ 08:30:58 Eastern by Alex_Osborn

Without a doubt, The Last of Us is Naughty Dog's most horrifying and dark game yet. Set in a post-apocalyptic world that has been ravaged by a deadly fungus, Joel and his band of companions teeter on the brink of death each and every day.

The first entry in the studio's development series, titled "Hush," provides a closer look at this horrifying fungus and its effects on humanity. Give it a look above.

It's hard to believe that this is the same studio that brought us Jak & Daxter and Uncharted. Naughty Dog is certainly proving that it's made up of one versatile group of minds.

Look for The Last of Us when it hits store shelves on June 14th.

Good video production on this one, I do like that they went with a different look for the "not" Zombies. Yet to me they still feel like zombies. Specifically After playing Dead Space 3, they just remind me of necromorphs with the whole airborne spore thingy. I almost wish they would have gone a little more radical with the enemy models. I am looking forward to playing this though!

Oh man, I better start saving up my courage now if I'm gonna play this. During the daylight hours only. And all the lights on anyway.

The first game that I played that really scared me was the original Silent Hill on the PS1! Then it was the Original Dead Space. Seems like this one might bring that feeling back that I felt while playing DS. I enjoy games like these and cant wait until it comes out.

Just a random thought: I wonder if there is some manner of infection element that will be preset. I'd prefer not to have a complete bummer fest like say, the Walking Dead game, however, it would be interesting to have a element where you're encouraged to hurry in order to either avoid getting infected, or failing that, have to hurry to complete the overall story objectives before you lose the capability to reason.

Nothing puts an edge on the level of tension like implied time limits, but that might push people past the breaking point also.

I haven't cared for the 3-D Zelda games, but when they first started rolling out I tried Majora's Mask just to give it the benefit of the doubt.

The timer made me hate it worse than Oot.

this is the same game that was being advertised about 6 months ago right? some dude protecting a little girl in a post apocalyptic world? the only reason i ask is because it didn't seem like there were going to be any supernatural enemies in that one...

i've been confused about this for a while now and i've finally put my shame aside to admit it...

Ive seen videos on that fungus, its weird to think something that sci fi like is a real organism on this planet. Dont await the zombie apocalypse, fear Toads cousin from the jungles.
