The Oddboxx Coming To PS3

Posted on Friday, April 29 @ 11:36:45 Eastern by

The Oddboxx, a compilation of the four Oddworld games Abe's Exoddus, Abe's Oddysee, Munch's Oddysee, and Stranger's Wrath, will be available for PS3 in the summer. The pack is already downloadable via Steam for £12.99, so this will mark the first time it will see the console, with a possible Xbox 360 version still unconfirmed but in the works after Microsoft originally turned down this compilation project by Just Add Water.

As a bonus, Just Add Water will also be bringing back a lost Oddworld title called Oddworld: Hand of Odd, a real-time strategy game that JAW boss Stewart Gilray sees as a golden opportunity:

RTS games and Command & Conquer don’t particularly do well today. Why don’t we look at it the other way round and say, ‘What is today’s equivalent?’ I hate to say this, but it’s the CityVilles and the FarmVilles. We’re going to try and apply a bit of that mechanic to that and see where that takes us.

(Of course, this is all assuming that PSN will actually be up by the Summer. Hey, I wish this was a joke too...)
