Turn The Lights Off To Watch The Dead Space Story So Far

Posted on Friday, January 4 @ 12:57:36 Eastern by

Dead Space 3 is right around the corner, so to catch players up Electronic Arts and Visceral Games have released Dead Space: The Story So Far, a three-minute trailer you can watch above. Much of the video focuses on the discovery and subsequent research into the mysterious Black Marker, an artifact that supposedly caused the Necromorph outbreak Clarke and company have been fighting back in the series so far.

One of my favorite aspects of the original Dead Space game was that Unitology played an underlying role in the action aboard the USG Ishimura. The small visual nods and whispers in dark corners always seemed like a trap. You could go inspect some piece of narrative information further but you might find yourself with a Necromorph on your back.

Dead Space 3 seems to delve even further into the relationship between the Unitologists and the Necromorphs, but we've got a little bit longer to find out how exactly the ties bind. Dead Space 3 is out February 5th on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.

Ya know I played the first 2, and all this "story" as they call it, never made it into the first 2 games. Kinda all new to me.

i recommend Dead Space: Martyr to anyone who wants insight in the discovery of the first marker. It's a good read even if you haven't played Dead Space
