Twisted Metal Release Date Hits Europe

Posted on Monday, February 6 @ 13:54:29 Eastern by Jonathan_Leack

If you live in Europe chances are you're on the edge of your seat waiting to find out when you can pick-up Twisted Metal. Thanks to David Jaffe, you can now mark your calendar and prepare to release your frustration.

Twisted Metal will be made available throughout Europe on March 7th, dropping it right in-between SSX and Mass Effect 3. Truly a worst case scenario -- or a best case-scenario if you have the time and money.

Not only does this mean that it will come out more than three weeks later than the North American counterpart, but the additional wait will be rewarded with a stripped down version with censored cutscenes. To add insult to injury, there is no limited edition version with Twisted Metal: Black included for Europe. Needless to say, you may want to consider either importing the title or renting a boat if you're a fan living in Europe.

Censorship in this day and age? What a shame.

I don't get it, why is Europe requiring censorship of this title? Granted, I'm not a fan of censorship period, but I do understand why some European countries choose to censor certain aspects of some titles, particularly when it involves the country in less than flattering lights, but this is Twisted Metal, I just don't see what they are finding so offensive.
