Ubi Estimates Assassin's Creed III Has Sold 3.5 Million Copies

Posted on Tuesday, November 6 @ 12:35:42 Eastern by Alex_Osborn

Ubisoft's sales estimates for Assassin's Creed III are in, and to no one's surprise, it looks like it has sold more than a few copies during its first week. During the publisher's latest financial report, sales were ballparked in the 3.5 million range, which doubles the first week numbers of last year's Assassin's Creed: Revelations.

If you've read our review or played the game yourself, then I'm sure you'll agree that the game's incredible success is well deserved. Here's to hoping that Ubisoft's other big fall 2012 title, Far Cry 3, lives up to the hype. It certainly has the potential to be one of the year's best shooters.

Let us know what you think of AC3 from your time with Connor thus far in the comments below. Oh yeah, and if you've already finished the game, be sure to give our latest GR roundtable a listen. It's both entertaining and educational, I promise.

AC III is great. I cannot get enough of the naval missions. I guess all those years of sailing tiny dinghies has made me crave the simple pleasures of piloting a floating fortress through a thunderstorm and blasting the crap out of those damn limeys!

Its such a great game. I really think its gonna beat out Borderlands 2 for my personal GOTY.

I've completed the Borderlands 2 storyline, and I'm only about a quarter or so into AC3's, but it's still already a really close call for me. I don't think I could pick just one if I had to right now. Can we just give them a Tag Team Games of the Year or something?

I feel Borderlands 2 isn't anything near GotY worthy. It feels too similar to the first game. AC3 however, is a different story. This is my pick so far, but I need to play Halo 4 first. I heard the story and campaign are amazing, which is a nice change from the boring ODST and Reach campaigns.
