Uncharted 4, The Last of Us GOTY Edition “Doubtful” For 2014 Release [Update: Sony Clarifies]

Posted on Friday, January 24 @ 10:04:28 PST by Alex_Osborn

[Update]It appearsUncharted 4and/or a GOTY edition ofThe Last of Uscould still very well be launching later this year.PlayStation LifeStylereached out to Monacelli about his response to a fan on the PlayStation Blog. For context, here's the user's question: "UC4 Easter eggs??? UC4 for PS4 in 2014…LOU GOTY edition please!!!!!!! for PS3!"

Monacelli clarified his response of "Ha. Doubtful" to the outlet, saying, "I answer the questions when replying. The only question was the Easter egg question. A lot of passion and gossip happening otherwise!"

So there you have it. There's still a sliver of hope thatUncharted 4will be launching before 2014 comes to a close.

[Original]It doesn't look like we'll be seeing any major game releases from Naughty Dog in 2014, as the studio has said the release ofUncharted 4as well as the still unconfirmed GOTY version ofThe Last of Usprobably won't be coming this year.

In response to a fan's question on thePlayStation Blogas to whether or not either title will be coming this year, Naughty Dog community strategistEric Monacelli replied by saying, "Ha. Doubtful."

While waiting until 2015 may be difficult, something tells me it will most definitely be worth the wait. Naughty Dog has yet to disappoint, after all.
