E3: PC or rather about the lack of it

E3 2013 has been very silent for me. There's tons of media, but most of it buzzes past my ears without them catching the important keyword that my ears are fine tuned to receive: "PC" or "Personal Computer". Microsoft, Sony, EA and Ubisoft have all shown their cards...

Upcoming Metal Gear 25th Anniversary Announcement Will Be "Industry Shaking"

Posted on Saturday, August 25 @ 11:44:47 Eastern by Jonathan_Leack

Earlier in the month a new website was launched for the Metal Gear franchise's 25th anniversary, and along with it the prospect of a new project by Hideo Kojima was teased. While anything made by Kojima speaks for itself, it might be an even bigger deal than we first imagined.

In the latest KP Report, an official podcast from Kojima Productions, cast member Ken Mendoza stated the following:

A lot of things to look forward to next week – not just for fans, but I think the industry’s gonna be shook by what we’re going to be able to present here.

Everything is up in the air at this point but all signs point to a Metal Gear Solid 5 announcement. What that entails is anyone's guess, whether it be a sequel after the events of Metal Gear Solid 4—which would be a surprise given the game's closure-based ending—or another game with Big Boss.

Kojima has teased the new Fox Engine and is planning to reveal more of its potential on August 30th. This may coincide with a live demonstration of Kojima's latest project rather than the forest demo shown last year.

Whatever the case, color me excited. I've been playing through the Metal Gear HD Collection this week and have been reminded of why the series is one of my favorites. I hope Kojima is able to integrate Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker's cooperative play and extra missions into the new experience, because those would go a long way toward modernizing the series.

If it's a Metal Gear iOS game I'm going to laugh, hard. Then I'm going to cry, hard. Here's hoping for a super high-def PC exclusive.

It's like when a girl says "You're not sleeping with me tonight" *giggle* and it's a guaranteed lay.

    This won't be industry shaking.

Following the success of "New Super Mario Bros", the Metal Gear series is also going back to its NES roots.
That means top-down view only. Also, guards who yell out "I'M GETTING SLEEPY!!"
