In a world dominated by violent media, Americans are no more eager to go to war than they were in the 1980s or the 1960s or the 1940s. Hasn't it always been someone else's problem? The overwhelming majority would rather go on thinking it had nothing to do with them and there...

[New Deals 12/31 + FREE GAMES] Valve Stuffs Stockings With Steam Holiday Sale 2013

Posted on Wednesday, January 1 @ 13:40:00 Eastern by

Valve has started the annual Steam Holiday Sale for 2013's end with deals on the year's best games from December 19th to January 3rd. Valve promises that more than 2000 games will be on sale throughout the promotion period and that, as usual, new deals will appear on the shop every day.

Those deals are joined by flash deals which last for eight hours before rotating out. The community choice deal also lets users steer a discount to a game they've wanted to add to their library all year long. Just don't expect hot indie titles like Starbound, Rust, and DayZ to go on sale.

Left 4 Dead 2 is also free for all Steam users. Go log on and click the green button the game's page, even if you won't be able to play on your current laptop or computer. Hope you got your free copy of Left 4 Dead 2 while it lasted. Here are free-to-play games currently running promotions for the holiday on Steam: King's Bounty Legions, Warframe, Marvel Puzzle Quest, APB Reloaded, Stronghold Kingdoms, Might & Magic Duel of Champions, Dungeons and Dragons Neverwinter, Rift, Team Fortress 2, and of course the incredibly popular Dota 2. Don't forget our Most Surprising Game of 2013 award-winner, Path of Exile.

We'll keep this page update with each deal tier as the sale continues. Here are the current discounts and here is Steam's web storefront:
