Vote For BioShock Infinite's Reversible Box Art

Posted on Wednesday, December 12 @ 09:53:01 Eastern by Keri_Honea

Last week, Irrational Games unveiled BioShock Infinite's box art, and the Internet did what it does best: take up torches and pitchforks and complain.

It looks generic. It looks like every other shooter game art out there. It doesn't have Elizabeth. It's too dude-bro. It looks like Nathan Drake. It doesn't adequately show off the art style. Blah, blah, blah.

Well complainers, Irrational Games has partially conceded to your demands.

Ken Levine announced that BioShock Infinite would have reversible box art, and he's opened up a poll for everyone to vote for their favorite covers.

But wait, there's more!

You want even more choice in covers? We’re also going to be arranging a whole mess of MORE alternate covers which will be available to download and print yourself. Of course, these are free and we’d love to hear your thoughts in the forums as to what you’d like to see.

Now there's nothing left to do but vote and sit back and wait for the Internet to complain about which cover won, much like the complaining when BioWare put up votes for what the official female Commander Shepard would look like.

I reverse all of my PS3 covers, except the lame, blank white ones.

I am totally in love with the red cover art they've provided as an option. Vote for that one!

Yeah, it has the coolest look, though #6 is pretty solid, too.

Reversible box-art is a nice idea. It would allow them to achieve both the marketing pitch and add something fans would prefer. The interior art could even relate to the exterior art in a way that has the two images complementing each other. In this case the outer art appears vaguely generic and the interior could gleefully subvert all the expectations the exterior art sets up.

Looks like four is going to win. It's cool too. But six is my favorite.

You say "pandering to complainers," I say "satisfying your customers."

It's a good way to stay in business, keep your job, and still give people what they ask for. :)

Really!? I don't get this at all, it's just a box! It really REALLY doesn't matter. Most likely getting this off steam anyway so I won't even have the flipping box art!

Voted for #5. Also like 4 and 6, but we cant have them all. Or can we? Already re-sized and printed all but 1 and 2. Let the wait begin!
