E3: PC or rather about the lack of it

E3 2013 has been very silent for me. There's tons of media, but most of it buzzes past my ears without them catching the important keyword that my ears are fine tuned to receive: "PC" or "Personal Computer". Microsoft, Sony, EA and Ubisoft have all shown their cards...

Wayne Brady: Gaming Is "An Addiction, But One of the Healthier Ones"

Posted on Monday, November 7 @ 07:00:31 Eastern by

When he's not busy hosting Let's Make a Deal on CBS, comedian Wayne Brady is often on the set in his dressing room playing video games with announcer Jonathan Mangum.

Owning all three stand-up modern consoles—Wii, PS3, and Xbox 360—he has plenty of time to play his favorites, Mortal Kombat, Halo: Reach, and Michael Jackson: The Experience:

I have 30 minutes between shows, and I'm very protective of the time. My mom didn't let me play video games growing up, so now I do…gaming gives me a chance to just let go, blow somebody up and fight somebody from another dimension. It's all escapism. It's a little bit of an addiction, but one of the healthier ones. You won't see me in rehab anytime soon.

I like to be left alone when I'm not working. So the last thing I want to do is go to a (game like Zynga's) Farmville and have a community. I want the single player experience.

I play a storyline all the way through. The more cinematic the game is, the more [I] can replay it.

And what about the lulz?

As I'm doing a deal, I pretend they're Zelda and I'm Link.

I’m not addicted to games. I can quit any time I want, I just don’t want to.

"I want the single player experience."

    ^This.

He'll be glad to know I've kept him in mind while doing my own development.

....seriously. I had to ask myself, "if Wayne Brady played this, would he like it?" I suggest all of you try applying this logic to just about whatever you're doing.
