Web-Based PlayStation Store Coming To U.S. Later This Month

Posted on Thursday, January 10 @ 09:13:20 Eastern by Alex_Osborn

If browsing the PlayStation Store on your computer sounds like a good time, you'll be pleased to know that a web-based version of Sony's gaming marketplace will be coming to the U.S. by the end of the month.

The browser-accessible store is already available in Europe, and allows users to comb through the library of digital products and make purchases. Sony is working to make it so that (eventually) you'll be able to make a purchase from the web and have it automatically start downloading on your PS3. Now that is something I can get behind.

Do you see yourself taking advantage of this web-based store, or is it going to end up being an unnecessary luxury? I could totally see myself using this to nab up the free PS Plus games before they expire should I not have my PS3 handy. Let us know what you think in the comments below.

I can see how it would be useful, but it's something I myself probably wouldn't use much, if at all. Not a bad idea, though.

Sounds like a great idea, but much like darkvictory, I couldn't see myself using it.
