E3: PC or rather about the lack of it

E3 2013 has been very silent for me. There's tons of media, but most of it buzzes past my ears without them catching the important keyword that my ears are fine tuned to receive: "PC" or "Personal Computer". Microsoft, Sony, EA and Ubisoft have all shown their cards...

What Does Wii U Box Art Look Like?

Posted on Wednesday, August 8 @ 13:43:39 Eastern by

Welp! There it is. What more could you want? It's blue on the top... It says Wii U. I'm guessing we could have figured this out on our own, but Ubisoft went and spilled the beans for us. Then, later Nintendo responded to Kotaku:

Nintendo has finalized the design of the Wii U game box art, and many of our publishing partners have already incorporated it into their own game packaging. We are seeing those game packages online as retailers are starting to showcase their games. Nintendo-published game boxes will appear shortly with placeholder logos, and then ultimately with the final artwork for each game.

So yeah! Here you go:

Looks pretty good. Only the spine looks a bit plain.

True, but I'm guess many publishers will doll it up a bit more.

Don't mind the spine, just not a huge fan of that yellow trim at the top. Yuck!

I wouldn't include the WiiU as part of the 8th generation.

I understand why you wouldn't consider it to be the 8th gen, but the facts are that it is the first 8th gen home console. Just like how the Wii had sub-par non HD graphics compared to the other 7th gen consoles, the Wii U will continue that trend of being the weakest CPU/GPU wise of the 8th generation.

I don't like AC: III's box art, I thought it would be more meaningful given this is the last title (I mean it has to be, that world ends in 2012 after all)

Let's just see if the software is worthwhile this time around. The Wii seriously lacked in good games and was catered toward house wives and kids. I have a feeling the WiiU will fall under the same path.

I wonder if the spine is a png. If all the WiiU games have white spines like that, I'll **** myself. I like the two U's they have.

If all WiiU games have white spines like that, our collections will look like the bargain bins at Gamestop.

Yuck. That's true. Hopefully it's just Ubisoft's AC color scheme. I haven't seen any other games yet.

Looks vaguely like a reference to Gamecube game boxes, what with that circular design on top.
