When SimCity Gets Faster, It Gets Prettier

Posted on Wednesday, January 23 @ 18:50:04 Eastern by

There's a reason SimCity was on our list for the Most Wanted 2013 video games. It's pretty.

This video shows "Cheetah Speed." Ocean Quigley, creative director of SimCity has been posting lots of videos like this, showing the way SimCity looks from every angle. Moments like this can really get you to reflect on the city you've worked so hard to build.

If you want more, like I do, you can just keep watching. It's a playlist!

Ooohhh...pretty. Definitely going to pick this up. Wouldnt it be great if we could play as a mini Niko Bellic and terrorize our newly buzzing matropolis'. Now that would be a good time!!

Streets of Sim City was that. It was that before GTA3.

I wish there's a new Streets of Sim City. It was pretty fun driving around my city and seeing my nuclear power plants or skyscrapers.

That "city" is the size of the small town I grew up in, but with skyscrapers. I hope the actual game has a proper sense of scale because I loved the previous installments. So far this one is looking pretty disappointing.

I agree, when it was announced I failed to see how I wouldn't be buying this game on the day it's released but the more they've shown the less enthusiastic I am about it to the point where I'm not going to buy. A constant internet connection needed? Smaller city zones and the scale just looks wrong.

I wanna see it at African Swallow speed. Complete with being unable to stop because the damn newspaper and financial reports keep opening up and you can't get to the tab to change it fast enough.

I'd be happy to have a Sim City that let me control police or criminals to habe Command&Conquer style wars. Any recommendations?
