White Super-Slim PS3 Coming To NA This Month

Posted on Thursday, January 17 @ 09:22:29 Eastern by Alex_Osborn

North America all too often gets the shaft when it comes to console colors. Fortunately on January 27th, Sony will buck that trend with the release of a white super-slim PS3 that comes equipped with a 500GB hard drive and a year of PlayStation Plus.

The console will be priced at $299.99 and will be available in the U.S. and Canada. While you aren't getting a triple-A title like Uncharted 3 in the box, some might argue that a year's worth of PlayStation Plus is a far better bonus. With free games rolling out on a consistent basis, it's hard not to be impressed with what Sony is offering to its subscribers.

Will you be picking up this sleek white version of Sony's Blu-ray gaming machine, or is standard black more of your style? Either way, I'm sure you'd agree that it's nice to not be left out for once.

SONY gave me ABSOLUTELY NO REASON to want a PS3.

    No backwards compatibility.
    A laggy network.
    A last gen controller.

I'm happily sticking with Xbox 360.

See, that's the nice thing about competition in the hardware space. It works to ensure that products desirable to a broader range of consumers are made available. I'm glad you found what you were looking for with your 360. I, personally, couldn't be bothered to purchase a PS3 for several reasons as well. Still, long live the glorious PC Gaming master race.

Yeah, mine was 250 GB. Now it's a little over 150 GB. Only had it less than two months.

$299.99 for a PS3 this late? No thanks. Make it $199.99 and more people would pick one up.
