Wii U a Disaster, Says Anonymous Tipster

Posted on Thursday, September 8 @ 08:06:23 Eastern by

Nintendo. Seems like only yesterday they were making products that the entire world wanted. Both the DS and the Wii are Nintendo's biggest success stories, especially after coming off the failure that was the Gamecube. However, Nintendo seems to be losing their way with the 3DS, and according to an anonymous tipster, with the Wii U, too.

A tipster speaking to the now famous 01.net (the same publication that nailed the Vita specs before it was announced, and more recently, rumored the right-circle pad add-on for the 3DS), says that the Wii U is in "development hell" and is being "rushed through the door".

The source claims the Wii U's wireless streaming functionality--a feature vital to the Wii U--isn't working properly. Additionally, the Wii U's chipset is said to be "too weak".

Many developers are feeling lost, their progress impeded by a distinct lack of visibility, their working hours by the quasi-paced daily software updates

Says the same tipster who tipped 01.net off about the 3DS circle pad attachment. The word is that developers are preparing for a Summer 2012 release date, but Nintendo engineers are having a difficult time reaching that goal.

Even without technical problems, I think the Wii U is destined for trouble. I think the casual gaming crowd that made the Wii so successul isn't going to care about a new console release.

Haha! Yeah, it was a picture I made about the Wii U price being expensive a few months ago. But I'm such a Million Dollar Man fan, that I used it again today for no specific reason.

Oh please the MACHO MAN is going to snap into a slim-jim on his million dollar ass in the ring next time OHHHH YEAAAAAAA......

The Hulkernator is going to go righteous on his gold plated ass, slamming it into the ring for the big one two three count and take that giant golden belt and wrap it around his head and tie it into a knot. You better believe it brotha

*Mankind breaths very hard as he looks at the camera and the image of the million dollar man.*

I've been blown up, wrapped in barbed wire and pain is what I live on, the million dollar man knows nothing of Mankind.

*Mankind starts to drool and smiles behind his leather strap mask before heading to the ring in a shuffling stride*

Ah back when wresting was fun... now it just feels forced.

I'm pretty sure it's against the rules to nominate this comment for The People Speak, but we're both such million dollar men that I'm doing it anyway.

Wish I could post the video where he kicks the ball away from that little boy after offering him 100 bucks to dribble it 15 times. He was such a great heel.

Well who didnt see this coming.
If nintendo is smart, they will delay this thing for 2 years, scrapping the chipset and going for somthing better that would be able to outclass the PS3 and 360 and run with their next hardware, all the while pushing for more Wii Support. Xenoblade hits the states, and Nintendo realizes they have to work on the Wii.
If this dosent happen, then the WiiU is destined to be a failure just like the gamecube. the punishment of focusing on innovation too much and alienating their original fanbase. Innovation is great, but you can focus on innovation once you have the console secured. Thats what 360 and ps3 did

I think Nintendo may be rushing out the Wii U since the Wii's sales is pretty much going to die soon and the 3DS didn't take off as well as they originally thought.

    Can you say mole?
Now, even if it's only a rumor at this point, it's quite disheartening. Apparently they did not learn anything from the 3DS.

Nintendo Id like you to meet Sega, yeah remember him. He made some very bad decisions in his past and they took away his hardware and only let him make software. Maybe you should learn from his mistakes, just because your icon is a plumber doesnt mean you have to willingly go into the shitter.

The Game Cube was aimed at a hard core gamer base, and the Wii was aimed at causal game players. The Wii U (world’s worst name for a game system) is said to be for every type of gamer causal and hard core. If you try to be everything to everyone, you wind up being nothing to all.
