[UPDATE]:Be sure to check out all of the gorgeous images (like the one above) over at ourWind Waker screenshot gallery.

Fans of the cel-shaded GameCube classic, rejoice! For Nintendo has revealed that this fall they will be launching a new and improved version ofThe Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker for Wii U.

The announcement was made during today's Nintendo Direct in which we learned that this updated version of the game will feature overhauled graphics, Miiverse support, and the ability to play on the GamePad. Don't worry, the gorgeous art style will remain intact; it will just feature some added visual enhancements like improved lighting effects.

Isn't it pretty?

In addition, Nintendo also announced that the Wii U Virtual Console will be launching this spring. So those of you eager to play some of the classics on the GamePad don't have a whole lot of waiting left to do.

I don't know about you, but it's now becoming increasingly difficult to hold off on purchasing a Wii U.
