WWE '14 Officially Announced By 2K Games

Posted on Wednesday, February 20 @ 13:37:18 Eastern by

With THQ's licenses and properties broken up into pieces, 2K Games has seized the opportunity to take over the WWE license. 2K and WWE have entered into an exclusive multi-year agreement that will keep Yukes as the current studio in sustaining the WWE name.

David Ismailer, Chief Operating Officer for 2K, supports the inclusion of the WWE brand into their sports catalogue:
The WWE series is a great addition to our stable of triple-A titles, and we’re very happy with this exclusive agreement with our new partners. We look forward to capturing the excitement of WWE and marrying it with the same commitment to authenticity and entertainment that we give to our NBA 2K and MLB 2K franchises.
I don't believe this change from THQ to 2K Games will disturb the development of WWE '14, which was likely already in production well before this swap in publishers... well, at least until the next WWE installment when 2K will have more influence. The title might be altered to WWE 2K14 if we're following trends, but for now, it seems that "WWE '14" is a keeper for now.
