XBLA Summer Of Arcade Lineup Detailed, Priced

Posted on Tuesday, June 19 @ 10:31:22 Eastern by

I tend to focus on my backlog over the summer break. Few new games are worth the attention, and titles that do grab my eye are few and far between. I am NOT playing Madagascar 3: The Video Game. You can't make me.

That doesn't stop Xbox Live and Xbox Live Arcade from trying its best to distract me with the annual Summer of Arcade downloadable lineup. Major Nelson has revealed the line up on his blog, complete with prices and dates and the typical incentive: this time, buy any three Summer of Arcade titles and get 400 Microsoft Points back. Here's the lineup:

July 18 - Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD - 1200 MSP - $15
July 25 - Wreckateer - 800 MSP - $10
August 1 - Deadlight - 1200 MSP - $15
August 8 - Hybrid - 1200 MSP - $15
August 15 - Dust: An Elysian Tail - 1200 MSP - $15

I can certainly find three games I'd like to play in that list. Which'll you pick up... or down... load?

Yeah, and $45 on downloadable games for $5 back seems a bit steep compared to previous promotions. At least you don't have to buy all 5 like you did in the past.

I've never heard of Dust: An Elysian Tail. But it looks very similar to Odin Sphere/Muramasa the demon blade. Luckily it's on a platform I'm willing to play it on!

I saw Dust: An Elysian Tail out of the corner of my eye at E3. And I stared at it for more than five minutes, which is a lot for E3. That's how pretty it looked.

Hybrid is pretty, meh. I like how you keep in cover unless you jet pack yourself to another spot. I'm confused more about the story.
