Xbox Cloud Gaming Service Outed In Job Listings

Posted on Tuesday, October 30 @ 13:00:48 Eastern by Sebastian_Moss
Cloud gaming has always been a huge area of speculation in the games industry, and when Sony spent $380 million on Gaikai it was clear that it was only a matter of time before Microsoft joined the fray.

"Do you have a passion for gaming and the future of entertainment based on cloud computing?" Reads the opening to a MS job listing that Game Revolution has exclusively uncovered. The advert continues:

Do you want to work on latest ground-breaking cloud-based technologies, game titles or entertainment services such as: Gears of War, Halo, Forza, UFC etc? Are you passionate about the technology that drives innovation on the internet? If so, the Microsoft Studios services engineering group (SOS - Studios Online Services) is seeking a highly motivated and qualified Sr. Engineering Service Engineer to help define and drive online services technology iniatives across the Microsoft Studios. We are seeking a candidate that thrives on a challenge and can maintain composure while driving and implementing mission critical solutions.

SOS provides the opportunity to experience and manage the latest and most exciting cloud-based online gaming technology
.

Another job listing we've found lists the 'product' under Xbox Gaming, although calls the team the 'Microsoft Studio Online Services' rather than just 'Studio Online Services'.

With a war over who will provide your cloud gaming service set to kick off soon, where do you think your loyalties will lie?
