Xbox Live Marketplace Posts Mass Effect 3 DLC Early, Spoils Plot

Posted on Tuesday, February 21 @ 15:45:26 Eastern by

There are a bunch of ways to have something spoiled for you, but in this day and age, even your very own gaming console is a threat. That's right, you'd better throw that console right out the damn window to save yourself from Mass Effect 3 spoilers.

DLC for Mass Effect 3 has been detailed on Xbox Live Marketplace, but gamers have found that the description is a bit more revealing than they'd like. THIS IS YOUR LAST WARNING, NO BITCHING IN THE COMMENTS! D:<

Mass Effect 3: From Ashes allows players to "unearth lost secrets from the past" to add a member of the Mass Effect's Prothean race to Shepard's crew. Of course, attempting to purchase and download this DLC ends in errors, but it seems that previous rumors are to be confirmed, at least when it comes to digging up ancestral aliens and using them to kick Reaper ass.

Is it just me, or is it sad that DLC is already accidentally being put up, well before the game is released?

One, this was confirmed by the leaked script a while back. Two, this was confirmed by artwork they released a few weeks ago. He basically looks exactly like a Collector but with a mouth, and wears Samurai armor. So, yeah.

It has been a while, but the fact that Proteans are still around was pretty much implied in Mass Effect 1 right? I seem to recall that the last planet the player visits had a bunch of them in cryostasis.

    Or is my recollection wrong?

In Mass Effect 1, they say with some pretty strong certainty that all the Protheans were killed. All the ones in cryostasis had their life supports cut to save power.

They also looked like cool monsters with tentacles everywhere, not just people with slightly buggish heads.

Wow, this reminds when the Xbox LIVE Dashboard preview members "accidentally" saw Mass Effect 3 demo early.
