Xbox One Version of Spider-Man 2 Delayed Indefinitely [Update: Activision Comments]

Posted on Friday, April 18 @ 08:35:00 PST by Alex_Osborn

[Update] It looks like Xbox One gamers may get The Amazing Spider-Man 2 eventually, as Activision has confirmed that it will be working with Microsoft to try and make it happen.

“We are working with Microsoft in an effort to release The Amazing Spider-Man 2 video game on Xbox One,” the publisher told Eurogamer. The reason behind this whole debacle, however, has yet to be explained.

[Original] Activision's upcoming movie tie-in game, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, will apparently not have an Xbox One version available on launch day.

According to GamersHonestTruth, EB Games Australia has had to cancel pre-orders for the Xbox One version of Spidey's latest adventure. Not only that, but any mention of the Xbox One version on the game's official site has been removed as well.

The publisher has since provided the following statement to MCV: "We want to inform you that we are revising our release plans for ASM2 on Xbox One. When and whether ASM2 is released on Xbox One is TBD."

So, as it currently stands, it looks like The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will be available for just Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PS3, Wii U, and 3DS on April 29th. Let the wild speculation as to what's going on with the Xbox One version begin!
