Gran Turismo 4 out of the picture this year, PGR
2 sped across the finish line largely uncontested. Microsoft
went out of their way to ensure that this sequel would be a better
game than the solid original, but they outdid themselves with the
addictive and suprisingly functional online play. Tack on good looks,
good control and some good depth, and you get a winner. |

| F-Zero
GX It's harder than winning the Triple Crown, but F-Zero GX is also a fast, frantic game that deserves a nod. Considering the enormous legacy it had to live up to, this futuristic racer did a great job pleasing fans and terrifying newbies with its insane speeds and ruthless difficulty. |
