It's no secret that we're tough on games here at GR, but even old curmudgeons like us know a good thing when we see it. And this year, there were plenty of good things to see.

Despite our desire to tell you what NOT to buy, we have once again compiled our choices for the best games of the year, creatively titled
GR'S Best Games Of 2002!

These are the games that really stood out from the pack and reminded us why we have the best job in the world.

Game Revolution gives out awards as it sees fit. If there are no worthy recipients in a certain category, no awards will be given. Editor's Choice awards represent games that we felt deserved recognition despite not winning in a particular genre.

These games exemplify the upper echelon of video and computer gaming over the past year. Only games released between 1/02 and 1/03 are eligible. Awards are based on a complex formula involving a sun dial, midget juggling, wine coolers and melted cheese. Our hats off to the winners!
