Dreamcast
| 2000 was a breakout year for Sega, who fielded one of their strongest software lineups ever. With the advent of SegaNet, the Dreamcast stands alone as the first - and currently only - online console. Sonic, go get the champagne. |
|
Hmmm...let's see....fantastic graphics, terrific gameplay, new Franchise mode...oh yeah, and you can play it online. This historic game breaks on through to the other side and runs away from the competition as the first fully networkable console game. The trash talking is worth the price alone! |

| Editor's Choice Award - Dead or Alive 2 (Tecmo) |
| With its incredible graphics and great gameplay, we fell in love with this one right off the bat. A little more depth would have secured it as the best fighting game of the year. |
| Editor's Choice Award - Resident Evil: Code Veronica (Capcom) |
| It doesn't take a plate full of brains to recognize zombie excellence. How can we resist giving kudos to the best undead game in town? Mmmmm. |
| Editor's Choice Award - Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 (Activision) |
| We'd be remiss if we didn't give this beauty some kind of award. The best skating game ever gets even better on the DC. |
