I.                            SMALL NEWS CLIPPING

This is a walkthrough (currently) for a New Game -Normal-.
My goal is to give you options to get everything else before continuing to a
New Game + (Hard Mode).
In this walkthrough, I will try to give you the high score/highest score for
every picture you can get and also a note/strategy on how to get it right.

Completed walkthrough for a New Game.
Mission Mode 100% completed with SS and S Ranks only.

I will continue finishing the walkthrough on New Game+ (Hard Mode) and
Chapter Zero.

The points you will receive when capturing a Non-hostile spirit by using
Type-07/14/61/90/Zero is NO DIFFERENT.

The 'Points' I collected from hostile spirits may differ from yours, depends on
the Power-Ups and Equipped Function you chose, also depends on the Frame Shot
Skills you get, and the Distance when you take a picture.

I use picture numbering (P-011-SL1-HoS, etc) for all the pictures I get.
I put 'SL1' on some pictures to indicate a Spirit List you can capture
on your first play through (Normal Mode).
I put 'HoS/VS/HiS/DS/CS' to indicate whether it is a Hostile/Vanishing/Hidden
/Door/Clue spirit.

You can use the number; p-011, etc to search for its Points and Location,
Fatal Frame, Evade and Spirit List detail inside this walkthrough.
The number is acting as a search engine for the specific spirit
you picked up.

I will put SL2 on the right side of some pictures to indicate a Spirit List
that will only show up on the second play through (Hard Mode).

I have separated all the pictures according to their types.

All the points I have collected will be accumulated at the end of every chapter
The highest point on the screen is 999999 points.
The highest point on the Camera Upgrade is 999999 points.

Sometimes the texts/words are not going to pop up from other items (box, )
when you check up things the first time.
You need to do something first in order to trigger it out.

IV.                         GENERAL HINTS & TIPS
===============================================================================
1. Taking pictures: How to be a professional image capturing.
   *Focus on the target and Capture Circle:
    Synchronize the + sign on the center of the Capture Circle to the target.
    The Capture Circle will glow green/red when a target is within the range.

   *Core:
    Aim for the brown little circle line (mostly) on the head.
    This will give you higher points and when aimed accurately you will get
    the Highest Score.

   *Center Focus:
    Use your viewtiful sense of art. Be more artistic.
    Look around you then capture for the Core.

   It is very clear that you almost got it.
   You did aim to the head but you (might) just miss the perfect moment.

   Nice P-and very focus not only the right aiming to the head but also
   a perfect blending to its surrounding.

   Picture C:
   Nice try, but unfortunately you are not prepared.
   You miss in aiming to the core.

   Picture D:
   Oh my god. Next time try not to drop the camera again.
   The target has left the area.
   (the + sign is not anywhere near the target)

   *Search Faster:
    Hold down SQUARE [] button to search faster when in viewfinder mode!

   *Blind Capture:
    The filament at the bottom-right is glowing even when you cannot
    see a spirit in front of you. Use your viewfinder and adjust your distance.
    When the Capture Circle is glowing bright, press the shutter button
    to capture a spirit.

   *Charge Gauge:
    When you have gotten the Spirit Capture ability, the Capture Circle will be
    using a Charge Gauge which will glow red for a split second and to give you
    a chance to score for Zero shot.

   *Be PATIENT!
    When it comes to art in action, what else do you expect?

   *Timing:
    Once you are accustomed to their patterns, things are a lot easier.

   *Position:
    Sometimes, you need to exploit Mayu and sometimes you need to push away
    Mayu to get a better view/focus. Be in a safe or close distance to a
    spirit or hostile spirit is needed when necessary.

   *Saving your game and album data:
    Save frequently! is a compulsory when searching for higher points.

   *Basic Functions:
    Range, The size of the Capture Circle.
           (This size can be increased with an upgrade)
    Accumulation, The maximum amount of Spirit Power that can be charged.
                  (Can be increased with an upgrade)
    Sensitivity, Exorcismal power and shot range.
                 (The basic exorcismal power can be increased with an upgrade)

   *Power Up Lens:
    SLOW, Slows down a movement of a spirit. 1 Spirit Power required.
    STUN, Intermittently stops the movement of a spirit. 2 Spirit Power.
          You can do Stun, FF, FF, Blast/Zero or FF, FF, Stun, Blast/Zero.
    TRACK, Tracks a spirit automatically. 2 spirit power.
           You can only get this function once you have cleared this game once
           on easy or normal mode.
    BLAST, Takes special shots with high exorcismal power.
    SEE, Finds the location of a spirit.
    ZERO, Takes Special shots with high exorcismal power. 3 Spirit Power.
          You can do FF, FF, then Zero shot. Or, Zero shot, FF, FF

    These functions are your helping/bonus hand in the hunting for Fatal Frame.
    The effect will apply to all of the spirit within the Capture Circle.

    Note: Please REMEMBER to EQUIP and REEQUIP the function you need to use
          from the Camera menu.

   *Additional Functions:
    INSTANT, a light will flash to indicate a 'Fatal Frame' within
             a shutter chance.
    EVADE, press the shutter button at just the right time to escape a spirit
           when you are caught. In addition, you might get a chance to score
           for Fatal Frame!
    SAVE, increase the spirit power you get from capturing spirits.
          You can use more Power-Up Lenses.
    SENSE, allows you to see previously invincible spirits hidden in the village
           or mansion.
           You will get this function once you have beaten the game once.

   *Equipped Functions:
    MEASURE, Shows the HP of the closest spirit in the Capture Circle in the
             viewfinder's upper-left corner.
    SWITCH, you can equip up to three Power-Up Lenses.
            Swap them with the L1 button.
    ALARM, Makes a sound to warn you of a hidden Fatal Frame.
    ZOOM, Adds a zoom function. Zoom in with the L2 button and zoom out with
          the R2 button.
          You will get this function once you have beaten this game once.

3. Spirit Orb:
   *What is it? (taken from the Spirit Orb Scrap)
    -Spirit Orb is items used to raise the maximum levels of
     the camera's Basic Functions or Power-Up Lenses.
     Use a Spirit Orb from Function Upgrades on the Camera Menu to increase
     the maximum level of a camera functions or Power-Up lens.

   *How to obtain it?
    -Some are lying on the ground/tables waiting for you to pick up.
    -Some are given by the defeated hostile spirits.
    -Some are given by a secret hostile spirit;
     If you do not come to the hostile spirit at a specific time and defeat it,
     then it will disappear with the Spirit Orb.

   *How to use it?
    -Once you have obtained one or more, go to Menu Screen, choose Camera Menu.
     There are 4 options here:
     1)Function Upgrades on the upper-left.
     2)Additional Function on the upper-right.
     3)Film on the middle-right.
     4)Equipped Functions on the lower-right.

     Press left button and open no. 1)Function Upgrades.
     Here you got three choices:
     1)Equip:
       -You can choose any Power-Ups function once you have obtained SO.
     2)Add Spirit Orb
       -This what you are looking for. Make those Spirit Orbs useful.
        Choose any Basic Functions or Power-Ups function you would like to
        increase its maximum level, then press action button to attach the
        Spirit Orb -maximum 3-.
     3)Function Power-Up
       -Just adding did not mean it is functional. It is not going to work
        until you completed your obligation to pay for the cost/upgrade points.
        The upgrade points is accumulated from your hostile spirits' hunting
        points.

   (For Spirit Orb locations please read it under the Miscellaneous)

4. Type of Film:
   *Type-07 Film:
    Very small exorcismal power resides in the film.
    Loading time is the longest
   *Type-14 Film:
    Low exorcismal power film. Loading time is longer.
   *Type-61 Film:
    High exorcismal power. Good speed loading.
   *Type-90 Film:
    High exorcismal power. Good loading time.
   *Type Zero Film:
    Special film, highest exorcismal power, but loads slow.

   Note: -You can load the Film type from the item menu.
   Important Notes:
   -When capturing a non-hostile image or a still image, the points you will
    receive when using Type-07/14/61/90/Zero is the same.
    However, if you do not use Type-14 frequently, you will be overloaded.
   -Or else, do not pick up the film from its drawer until you are in critical
    need. The ammo will be there when you need them.
    Keep in mind that Type-07 is loading very slow!
   -You can use Type-90 to capture between two spirits. Instead of getting one
    full picture, you will be able to capture one Picture to each of them,
    for the total of two individual pictures.
    Just be sure to position yourself at the right place.

5. Viewfinder Mode/First Person View.
   *Not only you are able to take a spirit Picture but you can also
    DODGE a spirit attack by using the R3 analog stick.
    While dodging, use L3 to keep tracking and use [] button to track faster.

   *Viewfinder trick:
    When you are about to encounter a spirit, or, more accurately,
    just before the filament is glowing, go to viewfinder mode,
    approach the show spot (use R3), and when the spirit is exposing itself,
    you have the advantage of early aiming to the core.
    A good example is when taking a Picture for P-8 (Standing Woman),
    P-37 (Priest Behind), P-47 (Turns Head).

6. Frame Shots Style:
   Zero:
   -Capturing a spirit image when the Capture Gauge turns fully red.

   Core:
   -Capturing a spirit image when you aim right for the center of the core.

   Close
   -Capturing a spirit image when you are very (very) close to the spirit.

   Just Kill

   -Capturing a spirit image and KILL INSTANTLY the spirit with 1(one)shot.
    I assume, the more power you obtained on your camera, the more chances will
    you get. It does not mean you need to erase the spirit's HP to the exact
    amount. As long as the shot damage exceeding to the HP, it counts to it.
    However, sometimes it does not work. More to come.
    I often experienced this when taking a -Zero, Just Kill- picture.

   Fatal Frame
   -Capturing a spirit image when the spirit is in its most vulnerable pose.
    Usually it happened when the spirit is attacking or shortly after the
    Attack. Alternatively, sometimes when the spirit is preparing to attack.

   Double Shot
   -Capturing an image of two spirits simultaneously.
    You will also get your chance to double/higher your points.

   Double Kill

   -Capturing an image of more than one spirit in 1(one)shot and
    KILL INSTANTLY both of them.

   Special
   -Capturing a spirit image when using an Equipped Function on the camera.
    For example: Blast,

   Combo
   -Continuously capturing a spirit image when the red flash still on.

   Triple Shot
   -Capturing an image of three spirits simultaneously.
    You will also get your chance to double/higher your points.

   Triple Kill
   -Capturing an image of three spirits simultaneously and defeats them
    instantly.
    A good example would be during the mission mode; mission 9 or
    when you defeat the tag team villager.

   3-Hit-Combo
   -Capturing an image of a spirit continuously for three consecutive times
    during the Red Flash blinking.
    Use Fatal Frame-Fatal Frame-Blast/Zero for example.

7. Points Getter:
   Still Image:
   -It is the points you get when capturing an image of a non-hostile spirit.

   Mobile Image:
   -It is the points you get when capturing an image of a non-hostile spirit
    in movement. (The spirit turns its head around or walking in distance)

   Hostile Image:
   -It is the points you get when capturing an image of a hostile spirit,

   Note:-The Points you received may differ from someone else because
         of the Power Ups, Equipped Function you chose and the Frame Shot Style
         (FF,Zero,Core,Close,Special,etc). That is why now I use Points instead
         of Highest Points.

8. Save Data:
   -Normal Saving:
    Use the red dim lantern as a Save Point.
    On the map, it is pointed as a Red Crimson Butterfly.
    IMPORTANT! When saving data, your picture/s will not be saved.
    You must go to the album option and choose the save option by pressing []
    otherwise your picture/s will be lost >_< once you restart your game.

   -Saving Capacity:
    You are granted 5(five) game data slots for each Memory Card.
    You can create more slots when using more Memory Card. When playing,
    remove your MC on the slot 1, replace with a new MC then save your game.

9. Album:
   -Normal Saving:
    You can access this option either from the save option during your play or
    when you choose the album option on the title menu screen.
    You are able to create 5(five) new albums of your color; White, Blue,

    Each pocket window will collect 16 pictures from your camera obscura.

    Note:-You can load the same album two times :)
          and place it into the top or bottom pocket.
         -To copy and paste, you need only to press the X button.
          X on the Picture you want to move/copy and X one more time
          to its destination/to replace unused picture.

   -Saving Capacity:
    Each album will cost you approx. 970KB.

10.Spirit List:
   You will get it after you have finished this game the first time.
   It contains the 'Spirit List (names)' you have captured during your quest
   to escape from the Lost Village. Along with it, you can view the
   highest points (prove of your hard work :) you managed to achieve
   when capturing each of the spirit. Without pictures of the spirit,
   it is saving up some space on the memory card.
   You can find the Spirit List below the Memo on the Menu Screen.
   Type of Spirits in the Spirit List:
   1. Hostile Spirits (HoS)
   2. Door Spirits (DS)
   3. Hidden Spirits (HiS)

   Outside the list, there are:
   4. Door Spirits (DS) which will open a locked door for you.
   5. Clue Spirit (CS) which will give you a clue or a picture to solve
      the puzzle.

11.Other Info:
   *Some items will disappear when you did not get it the first time.
   *When using Equipped Function, you can change between them to give you
    advantage. Example, Equip Stun, aim and shoot for the spirit,
    go to camera menu, equip Blast, and shoot it to get higher points.
   *You can explore the area searching for hostile spirits if you have time to
    spend to. They will show up in random appearance.
    Some areas are occupied more than the others.
   *The most useful type of film is the Type-90.
    Not only can it capture two individual spirits because of its faster loading
    but also produce the highest points possible for your 3Hit Combo succession
   *It is best to start a 3-Hit Combo Fatal Frame with a FF,Z,Core shot since
    it will give you the BEST possible points or maybe with an additional
    Close Shot! and then finish it with a Zero 3 Combo with a Core Shot!
   *The highest % for the Spirit List on a New Game is 84%.

   ONLY SHOW UP DURING THAT MOMENT.

Steps:
1. Place yourself at *1. Go to viewfinder mode. Adjust straight to (*)5.
2. Walk faster (no viewfinder mode!) to *2 where you will hear a bell,
   do not stop walk faster and continue to reach *3.
3. When you are at *3 (when you reach the double door),
   quickly open your viewfinder mode.
4. Do not stop, quickly use R3 to walk forward while keep observing Mayu's
   movement. When Mayu is about to disappear (one leg of her is still visible),
   the Core on her head will show up.
   That is when you should quickly aim your Capture Circle to the Core
   by using L3 (usually to lower a bit) and quickly press the shutter button.
5. The words "Butterfly Chaser" will pop up on the screen below the picture.

        and would like to know you better.
        Sometimes when they are approaching do not target on the core,
        wait until they are close enough.
        Aim your Capture Circle lower in adjustment to children's head.

        When they are waving their hands, which is your sign for Zero shot.

        If get caught, use EVADE skill. It is very useful.
        When successfully evading, they are stunned for about half a second
        and you are invincible for the next enemy's attack.

       -Sometimes they use one of them as decoy. When one of them is sitting
        and doing nothing, try to approach, nothing happened.
        The truth is, one of his friend is ready to attack you from other
        direction, possibly from your behind.
        So, do not be fooled by these boys. If you avoid the decoy trap,
        the decoy is now vulnerable.
Fatal Frame 1:
 *Wait until they are very close when attacking you then the red flash and the
  alarm sound will indicate for the Fatal Frame. Aim for the core on the head.
  Do not forget to perform a combo.
Fatal Frame 2:
 *When you successfully avoid the decoy trap, possibly by giving a shot to the

Advice 1:Activate viewfinder, walk a bit to the left side. Approach the next
         door on the top-left corner, viewfinder will automatically off,
         quickly activate it again.
         The spirits are fleeing, catch the one in front of you (Fleeing Twin).
         You will get two names instead; Fleeing Twins and Fleeing Doll.
         If one disappears, you will only get one name.
Advice 2:It is possible to capture each of them by using Type-90 Film.
         Walk faster to the center and direct yourself to the next door.
         Just do not walk too far or else your Camera will go elsewhere.
         Once the Fleeing Twin shows up, you need to be very precisely quickly
         open your viewfinder and shot (what ever in front of you?).
         Next, aim a bit to the right to capture Fleeing Doll to the core.
         The main point is, do not let both of them be in your Capture Circle
         at the same time.
         I guess it is around 1175 to 1343 points for each picture.

Advice 1:Viewfinder trick. Do not wait, move forward (R3) and aim for the one
         in front of you. You will get two names instead; Vanishing Doll and
         Vanishing Twin.
         Or, (run) forward, stop at the next left door (Sealed Room), go to
         Viewfinder mode, the spirits will appear. It is to your advantage.
         If one disappears, you will only get one name.
Advice 2:It is possible to capture each of them by using Type-90 Film.
         Once the door opened, run inside the Hallway, stop when you have
         passed the first door to the left (Sealed Room). Quickly go to
         viewfinder mode, aim for Fleeing Twin on the left then to the Fleeing
         Doll behind her (even when the Fleeing Doll is disappearing leaving
         only her Core). The points will slightly lower/halved.
         I guess it is around 1175 to 1343 points for each picture.
         The main point is, do not let both of them be in your Capture Circle
         at the same time.

 *When you hit her, she will disappear and fall again from the top.
  Prepare your Capture Circle a little bit to the side or to the front (random).
  Keep doing combo.
Fatal Frame 2:
 *Make her desperate by moving/walking around her continuously.
  Or keep your position to her legs and adjust your Capture Circle.
  Follow her movement. She will then restart the bungee jumping.
  Once she is disappear from the floor, aim your Capture Circle to the spot
  where she disappears or a little bit closer to your side (a bit random).
