Killzone 2 Preview

Good shootin' - you hit the Killzone.

Let’s see if I got this right. You’ve seen the future, and the PS3 is going to win the console war? My crystal ball is shaking its head angrily, but hey, if you’re going to go all Marty McFly, more power to your flux capacitor.

When we, with Britanny, catch up with the future, you’ll already be there playing Killzone 2, the only PS3 exclusive shooter in our line-up, and a snazzy one at that. Sony’s press release calls Killzone 2’s futuristic look and alien war “post-modern,” but the graphics are way past Warhol. Set on another planet, Killzone 2 amends the story begun in the first PS2 game by dropping human soldiers off on the unfriendly planet of . . . Helghan. No, that’s not the name of the German beer your snooty friend brought over, it’s the homeworld of the Helghast, evil aliens.

It might sound corny, but it looks like a wicked surprise. Like the one Microsoft might get if the future turns up Sony, as you predicted.
