Mmmmmm.....combos....

At the recent E3 extravaganza in Atlanta, two design aspects dominated the peripheral market. One was the impressive influx of force-feedback gear (we can't wait!). The other was the emphasis on programmable hardware.

Long gone are the days when games and controllers were stubborn pieces of inflexible plastic. Today, peripherals that aren't fully customizable seem out of date and a waste of money. One fairly new company, ACT Labs, has enjoyed a good deal of success with their PC gear (check out our reviews of the Powerramp, the Powerramp Mite, and the Eaglemax). How will these upstarts fare on the consoles? Time will tell, and indeed has told.
