San Mateo, Calif. – Sept 9, 2009 – The man with the bomb in his hand is here to wreak havoc once again, as Hudson Entertainment, the North American publishing arm of HUDSON SOFT, brings Bomberman Live: Battlefest to Xbox LIVE® Arcade for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft this Winter. As the sequel to the critically acclaimed and highly successful downloadable title Bomberman LIVE, which has sold over 500,000 copies, Bomberman Live: Battlefest will feature the same frantic action with 8-person online multiplayer that the series is known for, as well as a wealth of all-new features, including teams, new modes, new arenas, new power-ups, new costumes, and even the ability to use an avatar as a playable character.

“It’s Bomberman time again, and we’re thrilled to give fans another installment with much-demanded new features,” said Sabine Duvall, Vice President of Digital Download at Hudson Entertainment. “Bomberman is one of the most beloved figures in gaming and it’s a blast to continue the legacy of this fun and frenetic classic with Bomberman Live: Battlefest.”

Since winning ‘Best Overall XBLA Game’ and ‘Best Competitive Multiplayer Game’ in the first-ever Xbox LIVE Arcade Awards at GDC 2008, Bomberman LIVE reignited the fuses of Bomberman fans around the world. In Bomberman Live: Battlefest, players will be able to choose from more arenas than ever, including an Adventure Island-themed arena, a shape-shifting MultiMaze and a Pirate Ship crashing through the waves. With the all new team play feature, 2-4 players can join up, battle other teams and set the online world on fire!

Players will also be able to customize their own Bomberman by choosing from a plethora of new costumes, as they mix and match pieces of Napoleon Bombaparte, Chef Bombardee, Sir Bombalot and more. With five new power-ups like the cluster bomb, rocket bomb and laser bomb, and four new modes like VIP, Bankroll, Capture the Flag and Capture the Crown, Bomberman Live: Battlefest is sure to be a fiery addition to gaming libraries everywhere!
