Blast Entertainment, part of the Mastertronic Group, have today announced the release of Casper's Scare School: Classroom Capers on Nintendo DS, following the successful release of their PlayStation 2 version last year.

Casper first appeared in 1945 when Paramount released The Friendly Ghost and later expanded into an entire TV series. By 1952 Casper had become one of the most celebrated cartoon characters on earth and developed into a publishing phenomenon. Casper has since starred in the Steven Spielberg produced Casper feature film (grossing $300m worldwide), two additional made-for-video films, and a top-rated animated TV series. Casper continues to be popular with children aged 4-9 years old, and has massive awareness across all generations. An all new Casper series, Scare School, is coming to TV in 2009, following the release of a feature length film with the same name last year.

Now join Casper the Friendly Ghost in this frighteningly exciting new Scare School adventure! Help him through his lessons as well as a variety of tasks and show all the teachers who is the scariest ghoul in the school! Experience 24 levels of fun and absorbing game play in this superb adaptation of the Cartoon Network film Casper's Scare School! Have a hair-raising good time in science, history and gym lessons and enjoy your schoolwork like you've never done before! Sneak behind your teacher's back delivering various objects around the class and progress through the game by getting good grades – the better the grades, the faster you move up the class! The player uses the Nintendo DS Touch Screen Technology to help the friendliest ghost in the world to get in touch with his spooky side and graduate from Scare School with flying colours!

Kirsty Payne, Marketing and PR Manager at Mastertronic, commented "Casper continues to be a popular and much loved character amongst children and parents alike. Blast's previous Casper title Casper and the Ghostly Trio on PS2 enjoyed success across Europe (200,000 units sold to date) and appeared regularly in the Chart-Track PS2 value charts. We are confident that with the imminent release of the new TV series in 2009, this title will experience similar success!"

Casper's Scare School: Classroom Capers will be released on Nintendo DS on 14th November 2008 with an SRP of £19.99
