Grid 2 surprised me. I was going through the motions, getting used to the cars and their handling, when suddenly something happened. I started having fun.

E3: PC or rather about the lack of it
By Starling
Posted on 06/15/13
E3 2013 has been very silent for me. There's tons of media, but most of it buzzes past my ears without them catching the important keyword that my ears are fine tuned to receive: "PC" or "Personal Computer". Microsoft, Sony, EA and Ubisoft have all shown their cards...

Running Pixel, a start-up mobile and pc casual game developer, is pleased to announce Crystal Crush an action puzzle with clear cross-platform attitudes. Designed around the idea of a simple game with strong mechanics, immediate controls and colourful graphics, Crystal Crush promises hours of fun to the mobile, PC and Xbox360 players.

This game is the first step of the Running Pixel’ philosophy. We trust in the power of casual games to penetrate different markets with brilliant results. Our intent is to catch every opportunity that the structural change in the gaming industry offers. Casual games are perfect tools to realize what we think will be the winner, cross platform gaming.

We wish to create original IP that fits well with gaming mass market demands. Games that anyone can download and play on his Pc, Xbox360 or mobile phone.

We want to do more with our concepts, where others offers, in the better case, a on-line playable demo, we will give an off-line extended playable. The player chooses the platform he prefers with discounts if he chooses more than a platform for the same game. This is possible cause we will release a game for all the platform we support at the same time.
To carry out this project and hit the target we realised “Sasquatch”, an exclusive development framework and a set of tools, designed to port any mobile game to the Windows and XBOX360 platforms fast and easily and/or to rapid develop multi-platform games.

The Sasquatch technology allows our games to be platform neutral and capable to good perform on any platform we support, starting from a single concept with a minimum of changes and adding specific platform features and effects.

Each game Running Pixel creates from now on will have this multi-platform approach. Actually we support java mobile, Pc windows and Xbox360 and there are plans in act to extend the framework to support the Android, Iphone and Zune platforms.

Crystal Crush, to be released in November, is the first example of what Sasquatch can do. Four new games are actually in our pipeline and will be released between the end of the year and the first quarter of 2009.

About Running Pixel
Running Pixel is a privately owned independent mobile and PC casual game developer founded in 2008 by who founded in 2003 JavArt (Alfio Lo Castro and Benedetta Sciacca) plus another Javart's team veteran (Massimo Riera). The company gathers mobile and video game experts to create top quality multi-platform games. The consolidated experience in design and development and the in-house built exclusive tools and processes enable RP to create the highest quality games
“We believe in good ideas and we do our best to transform them in fun games. The platform doesn't matter, we'd like that our games can be played everywhere without losing a single instant of fun. Anyway we do not forget where we are coming from, mobile games. We think that a mobile approach in the ideation of a game is a good way to get a fun and playable casual game.”. .

We are a developer as well as an outsourcing company, so we provide everything from full-scale game production down to finding the right tool or game design solution for third party. We provide an exclusive cross platform porting service that opens new markets to our clients. J2me mobile phones, Windows PC, Xbox 360, and very soon Zune and Android are the platform we actually cover.
