LONDON, UK – 2 December 2008 – At today’s ATARI LIVE event in London, Atari announced an agreement with publisher Stardock Entertainment to co-publish and distribute Demigod across the European and Asian PAL territories in 2009. Developed by Gas Powered Games, the eagerly anticipated PC title combines the character building of a role-playing game with the epic battles of a real-time strategy game, creating an innovative and thrilling new action strategy hybrid.

“Chris Taylor’s team at Gas Powered Games are creating something very original and exciting in Demigod which expands the possibilities of PC strategy gaming,” said David Gardner, CEO of Infogrames, the parent company of Atari. “This agreement with Stardock brings a great addition to our 2009 line up as we head into the next phase of growing our distribution business.”

“We’re thrilled to be partnering with a publisher of Atari’s calibre to help bring Demigod to Europe and Asia,“ said Brian Clair, Director of Publishing for Stardock Entertainment. “Atari’s expertise in retail distribution will ensure that gamers around the world are able to play Demigod next spring.”

“We are very excited that Atari has chosen to distribute Demigod and be our key partner in Europe,” said Chris Taylor, CEO and Founder, Gas Powered Games. “Atari has an outstanding team and renewed energy, and we know we are in great hands.”

Set in a magical world where gods walk among mortals, Demigod blends action, strategy and role-playing elements into a thrilling new experience. Players select the demigod that will lead their minions into battle and unleash the dogs of war against their rivals. Each demigod will do whatever it takes in order to ascend to true godhood. It’s a brutal conflict of demigod versus demigod, which makes the very ground beneath their feet tremble and quake.

Demigod combines the character building of a role-playing game with the epic battles of a real-time strategy game to create an exciting and original hybrid. Choosing from nearly a dozen unique demigods each with their own special skills, powers and capabilities, players will watch their demigod grow in power as they gain experience, level up, and brush aside hordes of enemy minions.

The massive, earth-shattering battles are set across a series of awe-inspiring arenas rendered in stunning detail. The addictive and re-playable single player campaign is complemented by multiplayer gameplay for thrilling online battles as the demigods battle their way into the pantheon of the gods.
