E3: PC or rather about the lack of it

E3 2013 has been very silent for me. There's tons of media, but most of it buzzes past my ears without them catching the important keyword that my ears are fine tuned to receive: "PC" or "Personal Computer". Microsoft, Sony, EA and Ubisoft have all shown their cards...

FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST™ and the Broken Angel brings a fresh new action RPG to this year’s Square Enix lineup. Based on a wildly popular Japanese animation and comic of the same name, FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST and the Broken Angel traces the journey of two brothers on a life-changing quest.

Edward Elric is a genius alchemist. He and his younger brother Alphonse tried to raise their mother from the dead, a forbidden act that cost Ed his left leg and Al his entire body. Immediately after the accident, Ed was able to sacrifice his right arm to save Alphonse’s soul and transplant it into a suit of armor. The action begins as the two brothers are headed toward Central City in search of the “Philosopher’s Stone,” the only object that can return them to their natural states.

Ed and Al are on the train with their bodyguard Armstrong, when a sudden explosion rocks the car, and a radical group hijacks the train. The three of them are soon embroiled in an all-out brawl against the hijackers. But Edward has more than a few tricks up his sleeve with a variety of alchemy skills; he can transmute everyday objects into powerful weapons. With nimble footwork and combo attacks, the trio soon overtakes the hijackers and searches the rest of the train for the leader.

The hijackers are all falsely accused military men who are escaping to a town named Hiessgart. When the brothers corner the hijackers’ boss on the roof of the train, a brawl ensues and a shocking new twist is revealed, sending the brothers askew on a different adventure.

The key to gameplay is transmuting objects that litter the landscape – everything from trees to trashcans – into powerful weapons. Players can also order Alphonse to protect Edward or tackle nearby enemies.
