New York, October 1st, 2008 Paradox Interactive today released the first screenshots from the highly anticipated grand strategy game Hearts of Iron III - the third instalment in the critically acclaimed Hearts of Iron series, that is eagerly awaited by the fans of the award-winning series.

Hearts of Iron III lets you play through the most engaging conflict in world history, World War 2, on all fronts, as any country and through multiple different scenarios. Guide your nation to glory and wage war, conduct diplomacy and build your industry between 1936 and 1948.

The Hearts of Iron series is renowned for being the most detailed and complete strategic World War 2 computer games ever made.
Hearts of Iron III will follow that tradition closely while focusing on satisfying veteran players through a multitude of brand new features and systems, including a huge map with more than 10,000 land provinces, making the game five times more detailed than HoI2 and one of the most detailed depictions of World War 2 ever made.

These first alpha screenshots depict parts of the record-breaking world map.

"I am proud to present the first looks of this revolutionary map", says producer Johan Andersson, "Never before has the world been depicted with such high detail, with over ten thousand different provinces spread over a map covering dozens of square-meters."

Control every aspect of the war - take over the oceans with aircraft carriers, submarines and battleships, and use your air force to defend your skies and support your naval and ground forces to make history follow your lead.
The grand strategy title Hearts of Iron III is scheduled for release in Q3, 2009.
