Questions of robot rights and dystopian ethics don’t often hit as hard as they do in Freedom Wars, though once they do core combat gameplay loops should have you enslaved.

PAC-MAN and the Ghostly Adventur Review
Is the entire Ghostly Adventures series, including the TV show, a prequel to the rest of Pac-Man’s life? Because in my childhood I seem to remember Pac having a girlfriend and a kid, not worrying about Pac-puberty.

FEATURED VOXPOP LinksOcarina This is another article from Blistered Thumbs I wrote, back from the dead after being buried in the way-back machine. Burbank, CA – Thursday, November 9, 2006 – There’s no question that explosions are good. However, watching state-of-the-art military machines explode into blazing fireballs of fuel and molten metal in cinematic slow motion is even better.  Yes it’s been done on the ground, but now it’s time to take it into the stratosphere with Codemasters’ upcoming, arcade-style jet combat game Heatseeker, planned to take off for the Wii™, PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system and the PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) system in spring 2007.

Heatseeker’s unique Impact Cam™ enables players to get up-close-and-personal with their kills in bullet-time.  Lock-on to a target and fire; hit the target correctly and the Impact Cam will reward gamers with the spoils of war – watching the destruction with cinematic, flyby camera shots of the enemy militant disintegrating into flaming pieces of junk.

Heatseeker’s camera action puts players right in the combat zone with all the intense face melting speed that comes from extreme close-quarters flight combat.  Jump in the cockpit, get the enemy in your sight, fire your weapons and experience what it feels like to be an angry missile screaming towards its ill-fated target at over a 1000mph.

“We want to give gamers the same explosive experience and special camera effects that make people want to go watch movies,” said Andrew Wensley, Heatseeker’s Senior Producer, Codemasters, Inc.  “The Impact Cam delivers the thrilling sensations that are usually reserved for big budget movies, and I think Hollywood would be proud of Heatseeker.”

Throughout the game players will face a seemingly insurmountable number of enemy air, land and sea defenses, all with a weak spot for an explosive payload. Heatseeker’s target-rich terrains will deform, blacken and ultimately fall apart as missile after missile detonates with laser guided accuracy.  Just make sure not to take out any friendlies…

Heatseeker is planned to launch for the Wii, PlayStation 2 system and PSP system in spring 2007, and is currently rated “RP” (Rating Pending) by the ESRB.  Be sure to take a look at the full arsenal online by visiting the official website at www.codemasters.com/heatseeker.
