In its 12th year, the Madden franchise is back and looking to continue its dominance on all platforms, especially the PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system. Madden NFL™ 2002 also debuts for the Xbox™ and Nintendo GameCube. Each platform boasts new features such as faster gameplay, new modes and new graphics that will please gamers on all consoles alike.

Key Platform Specific Features
PlayStation®2, Nintendo GameCube™ and Xbox™
· All new player face and body technology, so player faces and body shapes will look even more like the real life counterpart.
· Coach animations feature new face and body technology. Madden NFL is still the only game where actual coaches can roam the sideline.
· New modes include Two-Minute Drill, where points can be earned on offense or defense in a quick-hitting fast-paced game within the game; Create-a Team, featuring customized uniforms, helmets and stadiums; and Training Mode, where you can learn about the X's and O's of football from John Madden while perfecting in-game skills.
· Play and draft with the newest NFL franchise, the Houston Texans. Take them to the Super Bowl in Franchise Mode.
· New Madden Cards with new players, new designs and cheerleaders.
· Hundreds of new animations have been added, while a new focus on player emotion and high drama has been added with cool replays featuring camera angles a TV broadcast can't capture, such as inside the huddle.
· With Widescreen TV support, you can now see all of your receivers run their patterns. Madden NFL 2002 incorporates strategy from real NFL coaches and John Madden himself, improvements to blocking and pass coverage lead the list of changes for 2002.

PlayStation® and N64™
· Play in Madden Classic Mode, where you can relive the golden days of 16-bit Madden by playing the gameplay style that brought Madden its fame.
· New Madden cards now feature cheerleaders.
· All-new Coach's Corner mode allows the player to learn about the X's and O's of football from John Madden on his telestrator while perfecting in-game skills.
· Track your players' intensity levels with the Madden Meter.
· New kick meter challenges the user with skill based kicking.
· Defensive mode and head-to-head play have been added to the 2-minute drill.
· Players can now repeat any play as a do-over with the new "mulligan" feature.

PC
· An all-new graphics engine has been added for a faster framerate, which includes real-time lighting effects, time of day changes during the game and 3D sideline players, coaches and the chain gang.
· New game engine that brings new physics, smooth animation, multiple collision zones and many other gameplay enhancements to the PC.
· All-new Create-a-Team allows Madden fans to create their own team logo and uniforms.
· New and improved online play allows for more stable and faster gameplay.
· Export a franchise team to another roster and play exhibition games with them. All teams can also be imported and exported from one roster to another.
