First Ever First Person Shooter for WiiWare Gives Gamers New Reasons to Live... or Die!
San Mateo, Calif. – Feb. 23, 2009 – Warning! An infestation of giant robotic pests is coming your way in Onslaught, the new downloadable videogame published by Hudson Entertainment, the North American publishing arm of HUDSON SOFT. Now available at the Wii™ Shop Channel for 1000 Wii Points™ and rated T for Teen by the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB), Onslaught challenges players to battle massive swarms of insect cyborgs in order to save a distant research colony.

“With the popularity of Wii increasing, core gamers are looking for titles that suit their interests and Onslaught gives them an exciting FPS experience with the innovative Wii controllers,” said Sabine Duvall, Vice President of Product Development at Hudson Entertainment. “In addition, the game gives casual players an affordable and accessible way to try out a first person shooter on WiiWare™.”

The story of Onslaught begins when contact with a distant research colony is lost. After the team arrives in the colony, players are immediately attacked by an overwhelming horde of giant creatures. To survive the attack, players use the Nunchuk™ and Wii Remote™ simultaneously to aim, shoot, reload and toss grenades. As the cyborg insects increase in strength, the weapons are upgraded and vehicles become available to aid the battle. With online capabilities for four person co-op, players can also link up and play with friends to battle the bugs together, without fear of friendly fire.
