FEATURED VOXPOP oblivion437 Update: I was unfortunately not aware of Shamus Young's severe criticism of Fallout 3 available here to link in the original piece and I regret that.  It dovetails rather nicely with what I've written and it's much better executed than my piece.  I strongly recommend anyone...

Pid Screenshots

Nothing is quite what it seems… Featuring an art style all its own, the world of Pid is vast and peculiar. The pastel colors range from mellow inspirations to stunningly vibrant vistas. The inhabitants of this land are even more unique, having been stranded for ages on their own – growing into old, geometric husks of former humanity.
Pid harkens back to oldschool platformers… Everything about Pid is fresh and exhilarating, but that doesn’t mean it forgets where it comes from. Hair-trigger timing, complex platforming and simple concepts like holding jump for greater heights makes for an intrinsic experience.
More than one way to jump a spike pit… Clever puzzles, mixed with a need for platform savvy, make for tricky challenges. Kurt’s lightbeams defy gravity and transport our young hero from spot to spot. When used in tandem, the combination allows for a dynamic range of solutions for every obstacle.
The answers are never so simple… There’s no way Kurt can just float from place to place and expect that’s enough. Whether it’s tricking a rocket spitting baddie into taking out his allies or ushering a robot into opening a door for Kurt, Pid is a constant practice in adaptation.
Outwit the locals and be sneaky-sneaky… Kurt is just trying to get home, so the best way to get out of danger’s reach is to never be within its grasp. Being sly and evasive make for a worthy strategy.
A strange world is less overwhelming with a friend… With a fellow traveler in co-op mode, finding Kurt’s way home in a new world feels much less lonely. Joined by a stranded youngin’ named Audrey, the adventure becomes that much more memorable as they team up to find their way.
Get into the rhythm of world… Pid’s soundtrack is as unique and diverse as the game itself. Throughout the journey, the subtle sounds of smooth jazz erupt as the story takes flight into the chaotic jamboree that sets the frantic pace to come.
