Puzzling Pipes Flood Multiple Gaming Platforms Courtesy of Empire Interactive

AUSTIN, Texas - September 2, 2008 - Empire Interactive today announced development on Pipe Mania is complete. The frantic, family-friendly puzzler will be released September 30th, 2008 for Nintendo DS™, PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) system, PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system and PC. Undoubtedly more fun than any jigsaw or crossword, Pipe Mania will soon appear on holiday wish lists everywhere. The game has an ESRB Rating of “E” for “Everyone”.

Puzzle fans of all ages will enjoy hours of brain-teasing fun as they race against time in the infectious series of quests and puzzles filled with quirky characters, a humorous storyline and updated gameplay. The original version of Pipe Mania was released in 1989 and followed by Pipe Dreams in 1991. It has been ranked as one of the most popular and successful puzzle games in history, selling more than 4 million units worldwide. Pipe Mania will be the second of a series of titles to ship through the exclusive distribution deal between Empire Interactive and Atari, Inc. in North America.

“Pipe Mania’s multi-platform comeback will give fans several new ways to experience the classic puzzle experience,” said Karim Farghaly, vice president of sales, Empire Interactive. “The current generation of videogame players will have the choice to experience the frantic puzzle games on-the-go or in the comfort of their own homes.”

Pipe Mania is a fast-paced puzzle game in which players lay down a set of pipes on a tiled grid in order to keep the Flooze - a constant flowing substance that speeds up with progression - moving through the pipes as long as possible without overflowing. Players must be fast with their fingers and utilize quick forward thinking, precise coordination, and keen awareness to survive the time constraints, pressure and accuracy needed to navigate the game.
