In Silpheed: The Lost Planet, you will battle a host of parasitic monsters
as they attempt to devour the remainder of the known universe, 31 years
after the last civil war. You will pilot top-secret SA-77 Silpheed starship
through six levels of intense play. Your point value at the end of each
level will determine when new weapons of the nine possible will be awarded.
The SA-77 can equip two weapons at a time, but you must choose very
carefully, as certain bosses are more susceptible to particular weapons.
Silpheed: The Lost Planet is a remake of the groundbreaking Sega CD
title, Silpheed. The first polygon-based shooter in console history,
the original Silpheed's combo system was a trendsetter, and the remake
is no less astounding. Silpheed: The Lost Planet rewards players who
take greater risks and survive. The goal of its creators was to make
a shooting game that would be as entertaining as watching a movie, and
they have succeeded. In the PS2 format, technology finally catches up
with the creators' original vision. Breathtaking other-worldly backgrounds,
remarkably detailed enemies, and magnificent explosions that light up
the screen while delivering adrenaline-jacking DualShock 2 vibration
will lend Silpheed: The Lost Planet the realism that Game Arts and Treasure
clearly intended.
