KONAMI GAMERS DAY, SAN FRANCISCO - December 7, 2000 - Konami of America, Inc. takes gamers to an alternate history 1960's in Ring of Red. An in-depth strategy game that flexes the graphical muscles of the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system, Ring of Red thrusts players into a post-WWII Japan, where brave infantry and giant armored mechs clash. Ring of Red will storm ashore in the U.S. in March 2001.

Ring of Red is a revolutionary war simulation, which blends tactical strategy and battle action, where players control colossal mechs and supporting infantry units. The battle takes place in the 1960's but with a twist…Integral to the battle are giant human-piloted, heavy metal machines armed with machine guns, rocket launchers and field artillery pieces. Players will maneuver units on tactical map-screens and then control elements of the battle itself as it unfolds in real-time. Ring of Red features stunningly animated battles complete with day and night cycles and thousands of combinations of attack squads, and a well crafted story, full of plot twists and political intrigue.
